The Search for Answers

For years, our co-founder Kacey searched for answers. Like so many patients, she went from specialist to specialist, appointment to appointment, hoping someone would finally explain why her body felt like it was falling apart.

She asked about nutrient deficiencies. She asked for metabolic testing, like an Organic Acids Test (OAT). She asked whether mold or other environmental exposures could be contributing to her symptoms — anything that might help address the root cause. Time after time, she was told her blood work looked “normal” or that her levels were “close enough.” But she knew something wasn’t right.

Eventually, Kacey was diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) — a genetic connective tissue disorder that affects nearly every system in the body. Looking back, so many pieces finally made sense. But a diagnosis didn’t automatically make her feel better.

Finally, a Roadmap

Instead of continuing to chase symptoms, Kacey and her husband Kyle decided to look deeper. They invested in advanced functional testing to understand what was happening beneath the surface — and those tests revealed exactly what Kacey had suspected for years. Her body wasn’t simply “fine.” She had multiple nutrient deficiencies, impaired metabolic pathways, significant oxidative stress, gut dysfunction, and findings that pointed toward mold-related illness.

For the first time, they weren’t guessing anymore. They finally had a roadmap.

As they began addressing those deficiencies, an incredible health coach introduced Kacey to practitioner-grade supplements from CellCore and Apex Energetics. For the first time in years, she experienced meaningful improvements — one supplement quite literally changed her life, and several became products she couldn’t imagine living without.

Then life threw a curveball. The practitioner Kacey had been working with left, and suddenly she lost access to the very supplements that had been helping her. That experience opened their eyes to a much bigger problem: access to high-quality supplements and expert guidance is extremely limited.

A Pharmacist’s Second Look

Kyle is a clinical pharmacist who has dedicated his career to helping patients optimize medications, prevent drug interactions, and receive evidence-based care. And for most of their lives, Kacey and Kyle were both skeptical of supplements — they believed many people were paying for expensive products with little evidence behind them.

Then one day, Kyle ordered a bottle of magnesium from Amazon, because he couldn’t understand why Kacey insisted on the practitioner-grade version instead.

A Problem Bigger Than Us

Through conversations with Kacey’s health coach, they learned that Kyle could become a practitioner for many of these supplement companies. As they explored that possibility, they realized something that completely changed their perspective:

As both a patient and a passionate advocate, Kacey Kelly founded Movement Health out of a deeply personal mission — to change the way complex and chronically ill patients are treated.

After years of navigating the healthcare system in search of answers for rare and difficult-to-diagnose conditions including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Tethered Cord Syndrome, and Eagle Syndrome, Kacey experienced firsthand how isolating and overwhelming the journey to diagnosis can be.

Kyle Thorner, PharmD, BCCP

Dr. Kyle Thorner is a board-certified cardiology pharmacist with over a decade of professional experience in both direct patient care and clinical program development. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy, followed by two years of specialty residency training in Cardiology.

Throughout his career, Kyle has worked directly with patients and providers in ambulatory clinical settings, where he developed progressive pharmacist-led protocols — optimizing the dosing and monitoring of patients’ medications through his own prescriptive authority, and ordering diagnostic labs as part of collaborative care teams. His expertise spans both clinical care and the insurance side of pharmacy.

Kyle has helped build and advance clinical pharmacy services — improving medication safety, streamlining provider communication, and developing programs focused on patient outcomes. He has also served with the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) to improve health efficacy standards. Today, he provides evidence-based supplementation strategies and diagnostic insights as part of comprehensive care plans.
