Our Mission
To make trusted practitioner-grade wellness more accessible through transparency, education, and pharmacist-guided support.
The Search for Answers
For years, our co-founder Kacey searched for answers. Like so many patients, she went from specialist to specialist, appointment to appointment, hoping someone would finally explain why her body felt like it was falling apart.
She asked about nutrient deficiencies. She asked for metabolic testing, like an Organic Acids Test (OAT). She asked whether mold or other environmental exposures could be contributing to her symptoms — anything that might help address the root cause. Time after time, she was told her blood work looked “normal” or that her levels were “close enough.” But she knew something wasn’t right.
Eventually, Kacey was diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) — a genetic connective tissue disorder that affects nearly every system in the body. Looking back, so many pieces finally made sense. But a diagnosis didn’t automatically make her feel better.
“I didn’t just want another diagnosis. I wanted to understand why my body was struggling.”
— Kacey
Finally, a Roadmap
Instead of continuing to chase symptoms, Kacey and her husband Kyle decided to look deeper. They invested in advanced functional testing to understand what was happening beneath the surface — and those tests revealed exactly what Kacey had suspected for years. Her body wasn’t simply “fine.” She had multiple nutrient deficiencies, impaired metabolic pathways, significant oxidative stress, gut dysfunction, and findings that pointed toward mold-related illness.
For the first time, they weren’t guessing anymore. They finally had a roadmap.
As they began addressing those deficiencies, an incredible health coach introduced Kacey to practitioner-grade supplements from CellCore and Apex Energetics. For the first time in years, she experienced meaningful improvements — one supplement quite literally changed her life, and several became products she couldn’t imagine living without.
Then life threw a curveball. The practitioner Kacey had been working with left, and suddenly she lost access to the very supplements that had been helping her. That experience opened their eyes to a much bigger problem: access to high-quality supplements and expert guidance is extremely limited.
A Pharmacist’s Second Look
Kyle is a clinical pharmacist who has dedicated his career to helping patients optimize medications, prevent drug interactions, and receive evidence-based care. And for most of their lives, Kacey and Kyle were both skeptical of supplements — they believed many people were paying for expensive products with little evidence behind them.
Then one day, Kyle ordered a bottle of magnesium from Amazon, because he couldn’t understand why Kacey insisted on the practitioner-grade version instead.
“I told him to try mine. He did. That was the beginning of a very different conversation.”
— Kacey
As a pharmacist, Kyle began looking at supplements through the same clinical lens he uses for medications. Instead of asking, “What does the bottle recommend?” he started asking, “What does this person’s body actually need?”
That’s exactly how they approach Kacey’s health today — using laboratory data, functional testing, medication reviews, and clinical judgment to support her body’s specific deficiencies and pathways. Their hope isn’t simply to add more supplements. It’s to restore health by addressing root causes — so that over time, Kacey may actually need fewer medications, not more.
A Problem Bigger Than Us
Through conversations with Kacey’s health coach, they learned that Kyle could become a practitioner for many of these supplement companies. As they explored that possibility, they realized something that completely changed their perspective:
The supplements themselves weren’t expensive to make.
They were expensive to access.
Like many families living with chronic illness, Kacey and Kyle had already spent thousands of dollars searching for answers. They were fortunate enough to afford advanced testing — but Kacey couldn’t stop thinking about everyone who couldn’t. Several of her own cousins live with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, facing impossible decisions month after month between paying for their health and paying for everything else life requires.
This wasn’t just their problem. People living with EDS, POTS, MCAS, autoimmune disease, chronic infections, mold illness, and other complex conditions often rely on multiple supplements every single month — while chronic illness itself limits the ability to work full-time. Healthcare expenses pile up while income decreases.
Supplements aren’t a luxury. For many people, they’re simply financially out of reach.
So Kacey and Kyle decided to become part of the solution. Kyle became a registered practitioner with the very companies whose products had changed Kacey’s life, and together they built a store designed to do one thing: make practitioner-grade supplements affordable for the people who need them most. That’s how Root Cost Meds was born.

We didn’t create Root Cost Meds because we wanted to open another supplement store. We created it because we wanted to remove one of the biggest barriers standing between patients and products that may truly help support their health.
Our Pricing Philosophy
It’s intentionally simple — honest, transparent pricing that lets patients access the same practitioner-grade supplements many healthcare professionals recommend, without paying luxury prices.
Our Standard Member Pricing Structure
Root Cost Meds Total Cost + 15% Member Service Fee + Actual Shipping and Applicable Tax.
A straightforward pricing structure designed to avoid unpredictable traditional retail markups and surprise charges.
Investing in the Future
Ehlers-Danlos syndrome remains one of the most misunderstood and underrecognized conditions in medicine. Too many people spend years — even decades — being told their symptoms are anxiety, stress, or “all in their head” before finally receiving an accurate diagnosis. Those delays mean years of unnecessary suffering and missed opportunities for appropriate care.
We hope that by supporting research and increasing awareness, future patients won’t have to fight so hard to be believed — and that people living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome will receive the care and understanding they deserve.
Our Founders

If we can help one family afford the supplements they truly need…
If we can help one patient feel heard…
If we can help one person discover answers they didn’t know were possible…
And if, together, we can help advance research for future generations…
Then Root Cost Meds will have accomplished exactly what it was created to do.
Because health shouldn’t cost your wealth.
